These terms apply when you ask Tech Pro 247 to consider buying an eligible Windows laptop, MacBook, desktop PC or iMac. The process is manual and drop-off only.
1. About Tech Pro 247
Tech Pro 247 LTD is registered in England and Wales under company number 14721998.
Our business address is First Floor Office 1, 64 Wellington Road, Hampton Hill, TW12 1JT.
You can contact us at services@techpro247.co.uk or on 020 7998 6930.
2. A request is not a sale
Submitting the Computer Buyback form is a request for review. It does not create:
- a binding valuation or offer;
- an obligation for us to inspect or buy the device;
- an agreed drop-off appointment;
- a collection, postage or courier service; or
- an automatic transfer of ownership.
We may decline a request before or after inspection.
3. The information you provide
Please describe the device accurately. The form may ask for its type, manufacturer, model, processor, memory, storage, graphics, charger and accessories, working state, cosmetic condition, faults, locks and your asking price. Condition choices guide our initial review but do not replace physical inspection.
Photographs should show only the device and its relevant condition. Do not upload identity documents, passwords, recovery keys, account details, payment-card details, confidential screens or other people’s personal information.
Your asking price is the amount you would like to receive. It is not an offer from us and does not bind either party.
4. Ownership and authority
By arranging a drop-off, you confirm that:
- you own the device or have clear authority from its owner to sell it;
- it is not stolen, lost, leased, rented, subject to outstanding finance, part of an insurance claim or subject to another person’s security interest;
- the information you provide is accurate to the best of your knowledge; and
- you have authority to remove accounts, activation locks and organisation-management controls.
We may ask to inspect proportionate evidence of identity or ownership at drop-off. Do not send identity documents through the public form.
We may refuse or pause a transaction if ownership, identity, finance, serial-number, activation-lock, mobile-device-management or lost/stolen status is unclear. We may cooperate with a lawful request from the police or another competent authority.
5. Manual review and provisional offer
We will review the information you submit. We may decline the request, ask for clarification, or give a provisional offer or price range.
A provisional offer is an indication based on the information available before inspection. It may increase, decrease or be withdrawn after physical checks. It is different from your asking price and from any final offer.
We will not treat silence or a failure to respond as acceptance of a revised price.
6. Drop-off by arrangement
Buyback is drop-off only at our business address and only after we confirm an arrangement. The public form does not provide a collection, postage or courier buyback service.
At drop-off, the intake record will identify the device, accessories, visible condition and request reference. Please check the record and keep any receipt we provide.
The device remains yours during assessment and until the final offer is expressly accepted and payment has been completed, unless both sides expressly agree another lawful arrangement in writing. We will take reasonable care of the device while it is in our possession.
7. Inspection and specification checks
We may inspect and test the device to verify:
- make, model, serial number and specification;
- processor, memory, storage and graphics information;
- power, boot, display, keyboard, ports, battery and charger condition;
- cosmetic condition, liquid or impact damage and missing components;
- activation, account, firmware, organisation-management and security locks;
- ownership or lost/stolen indicators; and
- whether the device can be safely handled, reused or repaired.
Inspection may identify differences that were not visible from the form. We will keep checks proportionate and avoid accessing personal files except where genuinely necessary, explained and authorised.
8. Final offer
After inspection we may:
- confirm a proposed price;
- make a lower or higher final offer and explain the material reason for the change;
- decline to buy the device; or
- ask for an ownership, account-lock or specification issue to be resolved.
A final offer is separate from your asking price and any provisional offer. It is open for the period stated with it. You may accept or reject it. Acceptance must be express and attributable to you; silence is not acceptance.
9. Acceptance, payment and ownership transfer
If you accept the final offer, we will record the agreed device, final price, acceptance, date and payment arrangement. We will give you a receipt or equivalent transaction record.
Payment is made only after inspection, checks and express agreement. We will tell you the method, recipient checks and expected timing before acceptance. We will not describe a simulated, instructed, pending or failed payment as completed.
No public form submission, asking price, provisional offer, inspection result or silence transfers ownership. Unless a different lawful arrangement is expressly agreed in writing, ownership transfers only after you have expressly accepted the final offer and payment has completed.
10. Rejected or declined devices
If we decline to buy the device, or you reject the final offer, the device remains yours. We will notify you that it is ready and arrange office collection. We request collection within three months after that notification and will keep records of reminders and contact attempts.
The passing of three months does not transfer ownership to us. If a device remains uncollected, we may begin the applicable statutory written-notice process. Where the legal conditions are met, the Torts (Interference with Goods) Act 1977 may permit a sale after the required notices. A formal notice of intended sale will provide the period required by law, including at least three months where that statutory period applies because qualifying charges remain unpaid.
We will pause a proposed sale where a dispute or other legal restriction prevents it. Any lawful sale will be recorded and the proceeds accounted for after deductions permitted by law. We will not automatically keep, dispose of, recycle or sell a rejected device solely because three months have passed.
A dangerous battery or device may need separate safe storage or emergency handling. This does not by itself transfer ownership or remove the need for a lawful decision about the item.
11. Personal data and device security
Before handover, back up anything you want to keep, sign out of services, remove activation and management locks, remove SIM and memory cards, and use the manufacturer’s current process to erase personal data where the device permits it.
Tell us before inspection if erasure is incomplete. We may decline a device that cannot be prepared safely. A check or reset by Tech Pro 247 does not replace your responsibility to remove personal data, and a factory reset may not make every form of data irrecoverable.
Do not disclose passwords or recovery keys through the form. If limited access is genuinely necessary for inspection, we will explain why and agree an appropriate handover method.
12. Safety, reuse and unsuitable devices
We may reject a device that is unsafe, recalled, contaminated, unlawfully modified or unsuitable for the intended route. A damaged or parts-only device may be waste rather than a reusable product. We will not accept it for disposal unless an appropriate lawful handling route has been agreed.
Nothing in these terms removes a cancellation, withdrawal or other legal right that applies to the transaction concerned.
13. Privacy and records
Our Privacy Policy explains how we use contact details, device information, photographs, serial numbers, ownership-check results, staff notes, offers, acceptance and payment records.
We collect only information that is necessary and proportionate for the buyback process. Optional marketing is separate from service and transaction messages.
14. Complaints and legal rights
Contact services@techpro247.co.uk or 020 7998 6930 and provide the buyback reference. We will review the submitted information, inspection, offers, acceptance and payment records.
Nothing in these terms excludes liability or rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
